Paramount Skydance Will Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Skydance Paramount will start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs within a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance planning to announce complete information during its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested the firm planned to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company had nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization has not yet commented to a request for comment.
